Ghanaian Afrobeat musician Francisca Duncan Williams popularly known as Sista Afia has disclosed that she no longer listens to the radio and watch Ghana television stations due to lies they report about her.
According to the ‘Slay Queen’ hitmaker, when she is in town she hardly watches TV and listens to the radio due to the lies reported about her.
Sista Afia claims she receives too much backlash hence her decision to stay away from radio or television stations in Ghana.
The ‘Jeje’ crooner further stated that she is not a fan of TV and radio because it has not been fair to her brand and name.
She added that she is currently concentrated on churning out good music and has left the listening and watching to her management team.
“I hardly watch TV and listen to the radio but when I am in town I can hear my songs playing and people are jamming to it.
You know sometimes the confidence is not there, but when I see people listening and jamming to songs, I say to myself, damn girl, you need to have some confidence in yourself. I think there is too much backlash.
I just stopped listening to it because there are too many lies concerning my name and my brand. I do watch it but once in a while but I am not really a fan of TV & radio. My manager listens to the radio and watches the TVs and stuff address it when things come up”, Sista Afia disclosed.
Sista Afia gained recognition after she released a song with dancehall musician Shatta Wale dubbed ‘Jeje’ which was a massive hit.
Sista Afia grew up in the United Kingdom but returned to Ghana to start her music career where she was groomed by Ghanaian singer, Bisa Kdei.
She has however released several hit songs which includes “Slay Queen, Corner Corner Pass U, Yiwani, Are You Ready, Weather” among several others.
