I felt very sad when BBC asked me why I’ve been stealing songs – Kuami Eugene

Lynx Entertainment signee Eugene Kwame Marfo, better known in showbiz circles as Kuami Eugene has disclosed how he felt so bad when he was asked on BBC why he has been stealing people’s song.

The award-winning artiste has been accused of allegedly stealing songs on several occasions but he keeps denying with the excuse he takes inspiration from the songs.

Speaking in an interview, the “Ohemaa” hitmaker disclosed that he went to BBC for an interview and the host kept on asking why he loves to steal other people’s lyrics and he felt very bad.

“Abeiku, do you know that when I went to BBC for an interview, almost everything the host was asking me was all negatives. This is because when he went on the internet to do research on me, most of the stuff that kept coming were negative and untrue stuff about me”, he lamented.

He added that “What even got me angry was when he asked why I love to steal other people’s songs, and this is because Ghanaians kept on writing and saying that I steal people’s lyrics which is not true. I don’t steal people’s lyrics, I just take inspiration from their songs.”

Kuami Eugene was a contestant in season 5 of the reality show MTN Hitmaker in Ghana in 2016, where he finished third overall.

He was signed shortly afterward to Lynx Entertainment and has gone on to release several singles including “Angela”, Walaahi, “Boom Bang Bang” among others.
