Days ago, almost all media houses in Ghana reported on Sarkodie, DBlack and other Ghanaian stars being honoured at the 2020 Global Leadership Service to Humanity Awards in Accra on 28 August.
Sarkodie is being bashed on Twitter after his recent honour at the 2020 Global Leadership Service to Humanity Awards in Accra on 28 August.
Sarkodie received the UN Kofi Annan Global Excellence in Leadership Award for his contribution to Ghanaian music and culture as well as his capacity as a role model for the country’s young people.
Now in its seventh year, the scheme, instituted in honour of the late UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, aims to highlight the strides made by media and cultural players towards nation-building, governance and sustainable leadership.
“A great honour to receive the seventh Global Leadership Service to Humanity Award,” Sarkodie said. “RIP to a great son of the land, Mr Kofi Annan. Your legacy is still alive.”
Report coming through has it that, the award has nothing to do with the UN and or Dr Kofi Annan.
From trending reports, the UN has dissociated itself from the scheme.
Tweeps are currently roasting the most decorated African rapper.
Read a few bashes on his brand as captured on Twitter below:
