American entertainment media brand, Billboard, followed African dancehall King, Shatta Wale on Instagram.
This is coming after Beyonce featured the dancehall musician in her Black Is King film.
Apparently, checks made by Celebrities Buzz indicates that Shatta Wale is only if not one of the few musicians in the whole of Africa to be followed by the reputable media outfit owned by the Billboard-Hollywood Reporter Media Group, a division of MRC Media & Info.
From our checks, other heavyweight African musicians such as Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, just to mention a few didn’t have their accounts followed by Billboard.
This is a big deal because that should mean the American media outfit which was founded on November 1, 1894 would now start monitoring the activities of Shatta Wale.
As it stands, Billboard has organized a poll on their website asking music lovers to vote for their best song on “The Lion King: The Gift” album.
Shatta Wale’s Already song is leading the other 16 songs on the album by 61.69%. The staggering stats is perhaps telling Billboard that Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr as he’s known in real life is a great asset that they have to start paying attention to.
